The LP of the ADRIA_Alliance project, Unione dei comuni della Grecìa Salentina will organize a technical meeting with experts and the representatives of the 12 local Municipalities involved in the elaboration of a joint SECAP. The overall objective of the project is to give to the partners an effective strategic planning and a governance model aimed at energy efficiency and safeguarding territories from the risks generated by climate change, also thanks to the adhesion to the "Covenant of Mayors' initiative". This Initiative is the largest worldwide movement of cities for climate and energy actions. The new EU Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy now brings together more than 11.000 local and regional authorities in 57 countries on a voluntary basis to implement the EU climate and energy targets. The approach adopted is bottom-up, which is essential to encourage broad social participation in the implementation of innovative technological, social and economic and technological solutions, designed for the energy efficiency of buildings, the production of renewable energy, securing territories. The meeting will be held on Monday 11 July at 17:00 in the Council Room of the Municipality of Calimera (LE) and it will be focused on the Joint Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) elaborated for 12 Member Municipalities of the Unione dei comuni della Grecia Salentina aimed at planning interventions in the field of energy sector and fighting against climate change in the Grecìa Salentina territorial area.
